6 month break

Since my last post we have lost my partner's mother. She was a wonderful and warm lady who had just had her 96th birthday.
So we are taking a six month holiday to relax (blood pressure is sky high) and get back to normal.
Not sure if I will post while travelling. I am definitely taking my journals etc to work with while away.

Benji

Going through a grieving process at the moment. My much loved dog Benji had to be put down due to ill health.

well on the way to recovery

Almost over the "flu". Boy did it knock me for a sixer. So glad when I am finally clear of it.
Still adjusting to my new glasses, with the eye strain, headaches (could be part of the flu as well) I haven't been playing in my journals lately.
Looking forward to getting back into the flow.

fybrmyalgia

Hi, just a quick note today just to let you know that I am still around.
I have been having a flair up with my fybromyalgia and have also picked up the influenza virus. So I am off back to bed with a cup of lemon, honey and ginger.

Journal 365

http://creativeworkshops.ning.com/group/journal365pamcarriker/forum/attachment/download?id=2334086%3AUploadedFi38%3A28415
Hi, I have joined Pam Carriker's Journal 365 class. She is a fantastic teacher of art journaling. Having started before my eye operation, I only managed a couple of weeks journaling. Looking forward to getting back into it after the eye heals. (trying to type this post is rather painful and very eye watering)

My fear of the proceedure was worse that the actual operation. It was over before I knew it and only a slight feeling of being uncomfortable. All that stress for nothing....

art journal page

Hands and Heart F r ee tutorial

I have just finished another journal page following Monica's tutorial.
Please  take a look at her site, a huge amount of eye candy for the mixed media artist in us all. She has some wonderful workshops on offer as well.
http//monicazuniga.blogspot.com/ hopefully I have linked properly....this is my first try at linking.
Monica has featured my photo. Me, my attempt, my journal page, WOW was I blown away and to see the lovely and uplifting comments really gave me a buzz. For someone who was always critisized at school for bad and messy work... I am a left hander.... it was such an unexpected and pleasant surprise.

Back home

We are back home a tad earlier than anticipated (2 weeks) and have since found out that there was no need to hurry. Oh well, only one of the many curve balls that life sends our way.
The scenery in the mountains was amazing, I enjoyed the quiet peacefulness of the place. Definitely going back.
I was soooo close to where Donna Downey is holding workshops in a few days time, (NSW, Australia) but now I am sooo far away with no chance of getting back up to the area. I find Donna to be a great prompter for my journaling and adore her Inspiration Wednesday videos. Disappointed that I am unable to participate in any of her classes.

High temperature

The temperature is so high, I feel like I am wilting. Don't have the energy to achieve anything. The house is sweltering, the dog is panting (even after trying to cool him down) even the cold water isn't cold.

eye trouble

Been having a lot of bother with my eye, just the usual tearing of the eyeball lining. Yes it is painful. It stops me from reading, journaling and makes me Extremely light intolerant. I will try and get a photo of the weird paraphernalia that I wear while suffering. One bonus is that I cannot do the dishes everyday as I miss seeing the dirty marks on them. The downfall is they pile up while I wait for my eye to recover enough to see what I am doing.
I have been trying to keep up with the Art Journal January with Milliande but I am so far behind it is not funny.  I am disappointed with what I have created so far. I will post some here even though I don't like them.

Floods and fires

My heart goes out to all the people involved in the floods in Queensland and New South Wales and the deliberately lit fires in Western Australia.
I am not anywhere near those areas but still feel the shock and pain, shedding tears for everyone there and their enormous losses.

Zutter blog hop

Wow, just surfed through the Zutter Bind It All blog hop, feel like I have just run a marathon. What a fantastic collection of ideas for scrapbooking and off the page projects. I love my bind it all machine, it makes it so easy to put together a journal.
Now I need to rest my weary eye.

Some journal pages

Better late than never..... a few of my journal pages as mentioned 3 days ago. I think I am uploading pics correctly???

3 creative studios

 Check this out.

So many classes, so little time

I have been busy having fun. Finished the first week of the Strathmore journal class with Pam Carriker, almost finished day 1 and day 2 from Milliande's January journal prompts and about to view day three's video prompt. These ladies (and others on the web) are wonderful with their help and easy to follow instructions. It is so appreciated by the many that have joined their classes.

All the while struggling to see with my painful eye. I keep ripping the top layers off the eyeball each night and sometimes through the day. I think I must pay the chemist his wages from all the eye drops I use LOL. I am saving for the laser surgery that I require as it is rather expensive because our government in its infinite wisdom, regards the operation as cosmetic surgery???? .... Are they for real. This is my eye I need to see with, not some silly beauty modification chosen from pride. Oh well must get off my soapbox (for now).

I will endeavour to upload my pictures later in the day :-)
